Skiing In Jammu

Winter months in Patnitop are marked by a number of skiing courses and setups coming up in the area. Given the modest and gentle slopes in Patnitop, it tends to be an ideal destination for skiing for people with no prior experience.

Madha Top (5-6 kms from Patnitop on the Sanasar Road) has good possibilities for all levels of skiing.

If you need some sharp and vertical slopes to go through it then you can choose Madhatop which is just 5 kilometers away from Patnitop on Sanasar Road. This area going to be perfect for those experienced legs. The slope present here is more difficult and challenging. The Madhatop Area has nice possibilities for skiing. You can see here all kind of skiers some experienced legs along with some middle level skiers. This is not the place for beginners.

If you want to check your skiing skills then there is lots of baby slopes and some experienced one at Patnitop. Skiing is usually possible in only between the first week of January and the second week of February. If you are a skilled person and want skiing in the rest of the month till middle march then you can choose the Madhatop which is 5 kilometers far from the Patnitop and has 500 meters slope. There is one more place where snowy weather is sustain till mid-April named as Nathatop which is located just 4 kilometers down in the same road.

An approximate 5km trek from Patnitop take you to green cedar enveloped Madhatop, which remains canopied by snow during winters. Snow clad Madhatop opens up to breathtaking scenic vistas of the Kashmir valley below, letting one indulge in taking random shots with his camera.

Madhatop is embraced by gradient slopes and turns and preset courts along skiing trails, which in turn makes it an ideal place for amateur skiers. Apart from adventure activities like trekking and skiing, Madhatop is also acknowledged for three fresh water springs. The area surrounding the springs are great places to relax and spend quality time alone or with loved ones right at the bosom of nature. They ease off tension, rejuvenate the mind and transfer you to a surreal world kissed with bounteous beauty of nature. Additionally, the springs are also believed to have curative properties. After all, who does not want to trek to a height of around 2024m to feel the chill of white soft snow and inhale the fresh brisk rare that cannot be experienced in crowded cities?
